Product Introduction
1. Structural Drainage (The "Umbrella" Effect)
Rather than fighting gravity, the pole uses it to shed water.
Arm Elevation: The arm is typically designed with a 3° to 5° upward tilt. This ensures that rainwater flows outward toward the lamp head or drips off the arm, rather than running "uphill" into the main shaft.
Overlapping Joints (Slip-fitter): Where the lamp head meets the pole, we use a telescopic joint. The fixture's housing acts like a roof over the pole's tip, ensuring water slides down the exterior wall.
2. Service Door Labyrinth Design
The service door (maintenance hatch) near the base is the most vulnerable point for water ingress.
The Gutter System: Decano poles feature a recessed inner frame or "labyrinth" groove. If wind-driven rain gets past the door edge, it is caught by this internal channel and directed safely to the bottom of the pole.
EPDM Gaskets: We use high-grade EPDM rubber seals. When the door is bolted shut, the gasket compresses to create an IP54 or IP55 splash-proof barrier.
3. Chemical Waterproofing: Hot-Dip Galvanization
Water's primary threat to steel isn't just the wetness, but the resulting oxidation (rust).
Internal Protection: By submerging the pole in 450°C molten zinc, the liquid flows inside the tube. This prevents "internal sweating" (condensation) from rotting the pole from the inside out.
The Zinc Barrier: The zinc reacts with moisture to form a tough, insoluble film (zinc carbonate) that prevents water molecules from ever reaching the structural steel.
4. Component-Level Encapsulation
The final line of defense is at the electrical level.
IP66 Fixtures: The LED lamp head itself is sealed with high-temperature silicone gaskets and often includes a breathable vent to equalize pressure without letting in moisture.
Waterproof Junction Boxes: At the base, wire connections are housed in independent resin-filled or gasketed boxes. Even if humidity builds up inside the pole, the live connections remain isolated.
