Product Introduction

 

1. Foundation Construction (Civil Works)

The stability of a 12m pole depends entirely on its subterranean base.

Excavation: Dig a pit typically $1.5\text{--}1.8\text{m}$ deep.

Rebar & Bolts: Insert the rebar cage and high-strength M24 or M27 anchor bolts.

Leveling: Use a spirit level to ensure the mounting plate is perfectly horizontal.

Curing: Allow the concrete (C25 or higher) to cure for 7–14 days before loading the pole.

 

 

2. Ground Assembly (Pre-Lift)

Never attempt to install components while the pole is vertical.

Slip-Joint Connection: Since 12m poles are usually shipped in two sections (e.g., 6.5m + 6.0m), join them on the ground. Use a chain block or winch to force the Slip-Joint together until it reaches the factory-marked overlap line (usually $1.5 \times$ the diameter).

Component Mounting: Fix the solar bracket, the single/double arms, and the LED fixtures while the pole is lying on trestles.

Wiring: Thread the cables from the solar panel and LED through the pole to the service door. Label the wires clearly to avoid polarity errors.

 

 

3. Pre-Lift Functional Test

Before calling the crane, perform a "dry run":

Connect the battery and controller temporarily to ensure the LED ignites.

Measure the Open Circuit Voltage ($V_{oc}$) of the solar panels.

Why? It is extremely expensive to hire a cherry picker to fix a wiring loose connection once the 12m pole is upright.

 

 

4. Lifting & Erecting

Crane Positioning: Use a crane with a capacity of at least 5–8 tons.

Sling Point: Attach a nylon lifting sling at approximately the top 1/3 point of the pole to ensure it hangs slightly tilted toward the base during the lift.

Installation: Slowly lower the pole onto the anchor bolts.

Fastening: Install flat washers, spring washers, and double nuts. Double-nutting is vital to prevent loosening caused by high-altitude wind vibrations.

 

 

5. Vertical Calibration

The Two-Angle Check: Use a transit or theodolite to check the verticality from two directions at a $90^\circ$ angle to each other.

Shimming: If the pole leans, insert stainless steel shims under the base flange until it is perfectly vertical.

Grouting: Once leveled, fill the gap between the flange and the concrete with high-strength non-shrink grout.

 

 

6. Electrical Commissioning

Connection Sequence: Strictly follow this order to protect the controller:

Connect Battery (Wait for the indicator light).

Connect Load (LED).

Connect Solar Panels.

Orientation: Finalize the solar panel direction to face True South (in the Northern Hemisphere) for maximum sun exposure.
